Enterfive Inc. is looking for corpus annotators for Swahili. The ideal candidate will have experience annotating in Swahili. You must have a deep understanding of the language morphology and syntax as well as logical and lexical semantics. You love grammar and are willing to learn about a new grammatical framework.

To be successful in this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and be fluent in English language in addition to Swahili.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Implement linguistic frameworks and annotation guidelines
• Consistently and accurately annotate texts on different layers:

1. polarity detection and
2. semantic representations

• Language data processing including making corrections, word stemming, morphological features
• Work with the research team to provide linguistic expertise: raise issues, contribute to the annotation guidelines and expanding the dataset

Skills & Qualifications

• A background in linguistics or a related field
• Be a native-speaker of Swahili
• Be fluent in English
• Annotation experience or proven knowledge of grammar/parse trees
• Proficiency working with word processors and spreadsheets
• Experience working as a linguist in the technology industry is a plus
